Drift Zone: Origins is our flagship game - a collectible card-based auto-battler with Web3 elements and Gacha mechanics.
In Drift Zone: Origins, Players collect a variety of characters, known as Drifters, by opening Dimension Cubes using the Drift Token ($DT). Drifters can be upgraded to battle others and earn $DT rewards.
Drift Zone: Origins will be available for mobile & PC. With development completed, we are targeting a Q4, 2024 release for the game.
Alpha version of Drift Zone: Origins on the BNB Smart Chain (BSC) Testnet is available here.
Key features include
Collectible Drifters: Players can collect a variety of unique characters, known as Drifters, by opening Dimension Cubes using the Drift Token ($DT).
Upgrade System: Drifters can be upgraded to improve their battle capabilities and earning potential.
PvP Battles: Players can pit their Drifters against others in exciting auto-battles, with the chance to earn $DT rewards.
Marketplace: An in-game marketplace allows players to buy, sell, and trade their Drifters, adding a layer of player-driven economy.
Fusion Mechanics: Players can combine Drifters to create more powerful characters, encouraging strategic collection and management.
Game Mechanics
Drifters and Dimension Cubes:
Drifters: These are the main characters in the game, each with unique attributes and abilities. There are 950+ different Drifters spread across 6 races and 3 levels.
Dimension Cubes: Players acquire Drifters by opening Dimension Cubes. There are 140 different cubes spread across 6 types, ranging from common to legendary rarity.
Gacha Mechanics: The opening of Dimension Cubes incorporates two levels of Gacha mechanics:
First, when purchasing a cube, players get a random cube type.
Second, when opening the cube, a Drifter with a unique $DT multiplier is revealed.
Competitive Gameplay: Battle other players using Drifters and compete for DT rewards. Players ante $DT from their Drifters, and the winner earns the balance.
Battling System
Auto-Battler: Battles in Drift Zone: Origins are automated, based on the Drifters' attributes and abilities. A similarly matched opponent is selected and Drifters compete for $DT rewards.
Luck Modifier: Before each battle, each Drifter is given a luck modifier (ranging from 0.899 to 1.199) to balance gameplay and prevent domination by the strongest Drifters.
Stakes: In battles, players stake a portion of their Drifter's DRIFT holdings. Winners gain DRIFT from losers, with a small portion going to the game treasury.
Upgrading and Progression
Fusion: Players can fuse two Drifters of the same level to create a higher-level Drifter. This results in improved battle stats and increased $DT holding.
Transcendence: Players can "transcend" (burn) their Drifters to claim the DRIFT tokens held within. The higher the level, the higher the amount of tokens that are redeemable to the player's wallet.
Marketplace: Players can buy and sell Drifters on the in-game marketplace, allowing for strategic trading and value realization.
Special Characters
Drift Zone: Origins also includes two super-rare non-playable characters:
Drifter Miners: Ultra-rare characters that can mine Drift Tokens ($DT) over time.
Mining Machines: Rare machines that generate Credits daily.
What is Gacha?
Gacha is a popular game mechanic from Japan, widely used in mobile games across Asia.
In Gacha, players spend in-game currency to open boxes containing randomized rewards. In Drift Zone, players use $DT to open Dimension Cubes, which contain Drifters ranging from common to rare and powerful.
The thrill of potentially unlocking rare Drifters keeps players engaged and continuously engaged in the game.
In-Game Economy
Drift Token ($DT): The "hard" currency, used for purchasing and opening cubes, and as the value held by Drifters.
Credits: The "soft" in-game currency earned through various activities, used for certain purchases and upgrades.
